Bluetooth and Mesh Intercom explained
Sena headsets use two complementary radio technologies. Bluetooth intercom connects up to four users in a closed group, ideal for small crews working in close proximity. Mesh Intercom creates a self healing network that automatically finds the best connection between users, supporting near unlimited participants on the open channel or up to 24 in a private group. Mesh is the right choice for larger teams, dynamic crews and sites where people regularly move in and out of range.
The Sena Tufftalk family
- Tufftalk: the original heavy duty earmuff headset with Bluetooth intercom, hearing protection, FM radio and 2-way radio compatibility, with a working Bluetooth range up to 1.4 km between headsets.
- Tufftalk Lite: a lower profile, more cost effective version with a 21 dB noise reduction rating, four way Bluetooth intercom up to 800 m, smartphone connectivity and FM radio.
- Tufftalk M: the latest evolution, adding Mesh Intercom for larger teams and self healing connections, plus four Bluetooth pairings to stay compatible with existing Sena devices.
The Sena EXPAND family and SPH10
For lighter applications, the EXPAND Mesh is a lightweight headset without hearing protection, designed for users who already wear earplugs or work in less noisy environments. The EXPAND Boom is a water resistant Bluetooth boom microphone headset ideal for arborists, landscapers and outdoor construction. The classic SPH10 Bluetooth headset offers reliable comms in a familiar over the ear format.
Hard hat mounting and accessories
All Tufftalk models are available in both over the head and hard hat mounted versions, so they integrate directly with your existing helmet. Sena hard hat adapters fit common helmets in A type and B type slot configurations.
